BWM increases its 6-cylinder engine range by introducing the new K 1600 Grand America model, designed with the concept of the American riding, that is a more relaxed riding. The maximum speed is in fact limited at 162 km/h. This is due above all to the new topcase (available as a standard), which has an impact on aerodynamics. Compared to the Bagger, the Grand America has a more protective plexi, re-designed bags (rear lights are however carefully integrated) along with comfortable and flat foot rests for the passenger. The mechanics and electronics are fundamentally still confirmed and include: 6-cylinder engine with an output of 118 kW/160 hp at 7.750 rpm, generating a maximum torque of 175 Nm at 5.250 rpm. This includes 3 Riding Modes (Rain”, “Road” and “Dynamic”) and the traction control function DTC is combined individually with each of the different modes, electronic suspension Dynamic ESA with automatic damping adaptation, available even on Cruise setting. Some other features include: Hill Start Control, reverse assist, cruise control, heated grips and seat heating, audio system and ABS Pro. The new K 1600 Grand America is available in two color variants, Black or Yellow metallic and can be seen at pavilion 13, booth N 60.
