The 2018 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing sets new standard in motorcycle tourism sector. Extensively revised it still shares the 1.833 cc 6-cylinder engine with the previuos model. It has gained power (125bhp at 5,500rpm, with peak torque of 170Nm delivered at 4,500rpm) thanks to the significant restyling, which has included 4-valves per cylinder. The 6-speed manual transmission is still available, while the new Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) features 7-speeds, with clutch feel, shift speed and rpm range of up/downshifts tailored to each riding mode. The double wishbone front suspension is an exclusive element, which provides more comfort. The electronic arsenal of the engine is now complete and includes: Throttle By Wire, 4 Riding Modes (Tour, Sport, Econ e Rain), HSTC traction control, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and the Dual Combined Brake System (D-CBS), which distributes braking force to the front and rear wheels. Also helping to reduce the machine weight to 365 kg is the brand new die-cast aluminium beam frame (48 kg less). The 2018 model comes with full LED lighting and reverse system. Honda will be at EICMA 2017, pavilion 22, booth O48.
