Those who are a bit older will surely remember the KLE logo, which featured prominently on Kawasaki's road enduro bikes, first with a single-cylinder engine and then with a 500 cc inline twin-cylinder engine. The 21-inch wheel had been missing from the Akashi motorcycle range for some time, and the new KLE500 aims to end the wait. At last year's Kawasaki stand a 21-inch wheel, a pair of exhaust manifolds, and long suspension... were visible from a well-hidden display case. At EICMA 2025, however, we'll have the opportunity to see it in its entirety. It is equipped with the new 500 cc in-line twin-cylinder engine with 180-degree timing and slipper clutch, already known and appreciated on the Z500 and Ninja 500. The frame is a steel trellis and the suspension is by Kayaba, with the monoshock working in combination with a progressive UNI Trak linkage. The Ergo-FIT system also offers four seat combinations to suit all heights and riding styles. It is also available an SE version, with connected TFT instrumentation, an enlarged windshield, reinforced hand guards, a sturdy skid plate, and LED turn signals.
