In 2022, Ducati made its debut in the world of maxi enduros by introducing the DesertX, featuring a 21-inch front wheel. Now, at EICMA 2025, Ducati is previewing the new DesertX. No final colour options yet and only a few details have been shared for the prototype on display, which sports a camouflage livery. At first glance, however, it’s clear that the 2026 DesertX will be slimmer and more compact than the current model. Ducati also announced that the bike will be lighter, with a dry weight (without fuel) of 206 kg. Much of the credit goes to the adoption of the new platform built around the latest V2 IVT engine. The new DesertX delivers a maximum output of 110 hp at 9,000 rpm, while torque peaks at 92 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Another evident update is the adoption of a progressive linkage for the rear shock absorber. Overall, the entire suspension system benefits from a new setup designed to enhance off-road performance. As for the rest, all details of the new DesertX will be revealed in February 2026. The bike will reach European dealerships in May, with distribution expanding to the North American market in June, and later to Japan and Australia in August.
