MV Agusta has announced a new strategic price positioning for the F3 R, which is now available with a revised MSRP of 16,000 euros (Italy) – a significant cut from the previous price list of around 19,500 euros.
A decisive move to align its positioning with the new dynamics of a constantly changing segment. Traditional 600cc inline-four engines are, in fact, gradually giving way to a new generation of middleweight sportbikes, designed to be more user-friendly on the road and offered at a more competitive entry price. Technically, the MV Agusta F3 R features a 798cc Euro 5+ three-cylinder engine producing 147 hp, with a counter-rotating crankshaft. The new-generation 9-disc slipper clutch halves the effort required on the lever compared to the previous version, whilst the bidirectional quick-shifter is standard. The chassis retains a signature MV Agusta element: the single-sided swingarm. The electronics are comprehensive and sophisticated: six-axis IMU, four riding modes (Rain, Sport, Race, Custom), 8-level traction control, wheelie control, launch control, cornering ABS with Sport and Race modes, and cruise control. In terms of technology, the 5.5-inch colour TFT display has been confirmed, along with the MV Ride app, which allows for navigation, route recording and full configuration of the motorbike directly from a smartphone.
