Introducing the Yamaha Tracer 7 and 7 GT as true EICMA 2025 previews wouldn’t be totally correct. Both versions have in fact been available since last July, featuring a reinforced frame, a longer swingarm, new suspension, a revised riding position, an Euro 5+ engine, and plenty of technology — including 3 Riding Modes, adjustable and switchable traction control, and cruise control. That doesn’t change the fact, however, that Iwata’s smallest sport-touring bike still arouses curiosity, especially since just a few weeks ago the range was expanded with the Y-AMT semi-automatic manual transmission versions. This system eliminates the clutch lever and allows the rider to shift gears quickly using only the left index finger. Alternatively, the ECU can take over completely, automatically selecting the appropriate gear. The new Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT Y-AMT models — including their 35 kW versions, also suitable for A2 licence holders — are available in the same colours as the manual-transmission variants.
