The new BSA Thunderbolt, unveiled at EICMA 2025, is the British brand’s first adventure bike and will hit the market in mid-2026. The name recalls the last motorcycle produced in Birmingham in 1972, which was already geared toward touring and off-road riding. At its heart is a 334cc Euro 5+ single-cylinder engine, liquid-cooled, delivering 29.2 hp and 30 Nm of torque. The generous 15.5-litre fuel tank ensure excellent range for long-distance travel. The chassis lives up to its adventure ambitions, featuring a long-travel 41 mm front fork and an adjustable monoshock. The electronics package includes traction control and multi-mode ABS with three settings (Rain, Road, and Off-Road), as well as turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB socket. The seat height is 815 mm, and weight is kept down to 185 kg. A wide handlebar makes for easy manoeuvring, while the ample ground clearance and reinforced skid plate allow the bike to tackle challenging terrain. Styling takes inspiration from Dakar-style machines, with an aggressive front end and a beak-like fender. Notable details include an adjustable windscreen and height-adjustable instruments, designed to suit stand-up riding on the pegs.
