The launch of the 2027 Beta motocross range brings with it the eagerly awaited debut of the RX 250 4T. The new bike marks the brand’s official entry into the MX2 four-stroke segment and joins the RX 450 4T, the RX 350 2T and the RX 250 2T in the range.
The RX 250 4T is the result of a completely new design, starting with the 250 cc engine featuring DOHC timing, a Morse chain on the right-hand side and a dual-injection system, with injectors positioned both on the throttle body and on the airbox sleeve. Also new is the five-speed gearbox, designed with optimised geometries to keep weight down. Furthermore, to improve mass centralisation and reduce overall weight, Beta has adopted thinner internal casings and magnesium alloy external casings. The frame is also specific to the 250cc 4-stroke model, tapered in the cradle area and fitted with side head mounts that increase torsional rigidity. The RX 250 4-stroke, on the other hand, shares the Kayaba suspension and the clutch with 7 drive plates and 6 driven plates with the RX 450 4-stroke. In general, both 4-stroke models feature the debut of Launch Control (5 levels) and Quick Shifter, alongside Traction Control (2 levels) and dual engine mapping. For the 2-stroke range, the new features include the RX 350’s piston, which is now lighter, and the final drive ratios of the RX 250, which have been changed from 13/50 to 14/51.
