Since 2015, Shark has been incorporating LED technology into its helmets, gradually developing its applications. At EICMA 2026, the French brand is presenting the Shark Skwal iCup, a full-face helmet inspired by Motorsport.
The Shark Skwal iCup combines a sporty, Formula 1-inspired design with a High-Impact Lexan polycarbonate shell, available in two sizes. The profile features a rear spoiler incorporating a vertical LED light signature, which is transparent when off and red when active. The system includes a smart brake light, activated by an accelerometer that detects deceleration without requiring any wired or Bluetooth connections to the motorbike. Three lighting modes are available: position lights, smart brake light and flashing mode. Battery life is approximately 12 hours in flashing mode, whilst recharging takes around three hours. The helmet features multi-density EPS, four air intakes and two exhaust vents, an Optical Class 1 scratch-resistant visor with Pinlock 70 and a sun visor. The interior is removable, the fastening is a double-ring system, and the helmet is compatible with the Sena for Shark intercom. ECE 22.06-approved, it joins the Skwal i3 full-face helmet and the Skwal i3 Jet, designed for urban use, with which it shares the same LED technology.
